Toronto, Ontario Canada — January 12th, 2017 — Today, after another 12 Months of surveying the public, Top Choice Awards (TCA), an International market research firm, has released the results of its 2017 Top Choice Award Survey. Conducted annually since 2005, the survey accepts nominations from the public and allows them to vote in a variety of categories for their favorite businesses and professionals in their city. This year’s survey was conducted in 27 cities across North America and received responses from over 998,000 participants.
With over 2600 nominees in the running for the top spot in their category, the survey broke all records of popularity and intensity. "The 2017 TCA official Nominees used their social media outlets and reached out to their clients, fans, followers, friends and families in order to bring awareness to their official nomination and our free public service of identifying the top businesses in a city" said Francesca Filippelli, National Accounts Manager of TCA. “This year we reached even broader demographics by incorporating our all new social voting app, VoteForUs.ca, which allowed voters to cast their vote through Facebook and Twitter. It was an even greater success than we imagined, so a big thank you goes out to all who voted” she added.
Known as the business award "that’s social”, TCA tapped into its social media channels to help drive the survey, reaching targeted areas and a wide demographic audience. Nominating and voting happens via phone, email, mail and online outlets such as our website and social media; providing a free spotlight for North America's brightest and renowned businesses and professionals. Besides mass survey distribution to the public, TCA builds a personal connection with the nominees throughout the nomination and voting process, providing guidance to help them get the most out of their official nominee status. “Every aspect of the survey is geared towards openness and share-ability. Every nominee in every category of each city is chosen by local people and social media has been a pivotal part of reaching and engaging consumers and nominees alike.” said Monica Couto, President of TCA.
The survey has evolved beyond simply allowing consumers to nominate and vote. It has developed into a platform that collects feedback from voters, creating a channel for consumers to freely share their thoughts with the businesses and professionals they love.
